Verdi Requiem

Posted on: February 19th, 2013 by jillgrove

Hi Everybody, I am just home from a fabulous Verdi Requiem with the Tucson Symphony.  The concert was part of the inaugural season of the Tucson Desert Song Festival.  I truly wish them all the best in the future seasons.  TSO is a wonderful symphony and they know how to treat singers.  I would encourage all my colleagues to give them a chance when your agents hear from them.  They are a jewel in the desert.

so now I am home until April, nesting and parenting and getting for Amneris in San Diego.  I love this role and can’t wait to work at the opera for the first time.

off to pick up my son from school.. being a mom is actually my favorite role

My new website!

Posted on: February 10th, 2013 by jillgrove

Hi Everybody, so finally after years of procrastination and intimidation, I have a website.  A bit shout out to Dr. Regina Zona for putting it together for me.   I have had a very exciting and inspiring Fall in Chicago with the premiere of two new roles, Klytemnestra in Elektra and the Witch in Hansel and Gretel.   Both were wonderful experiences with fantastic casts and productions.  I am looking forward to next season in Chicago where I will premiere yet another role, Jezibaba in Rusalka.

in my non singing life, I finally have a home.. no more nomadic existence of storage units and having my things spread across the country.  Now everything I own is under one roof.  Exciting and a little overwhelming sometimes.   But my son and I are having fun moving in and decorating.

The next thing up is a Verdi Requiem in Tucson, AZ .. talk about a polar opposite to Strauss!  and then Aida in San Diego.  I am looking forward to my debut in San Diego,  I know many of my colleagues love working there and I hope this is the beginning of a long relationship with them.

I hope you all enjoy my website and be sure to sign my guest book, I would love to hear from you!

until next time
